As a pianist, Laurent Beeckmans has developed a repertoire focused mainly on nordic, American and English music. In his Conservatory exam programs, he choose to perform Frank Bridge's Piano Sonata and Tippett's Piano Sonata No.2, works that were never performed there before. In 2007, he organised a Grieg Festival and performed all of Grieg's piano, songs and chamber music in several concerts for the 100th anniversary of Grieg's death.
As a soloist, he often performed Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue in his own arrangement with wind orchestra, as well as the solo part of his Piano concerto in b minor after fragments of an unfinished piano concert by Edvard Grieg that he performed in Belgium, UK and Germany.
From 2010, he forms with Pieter Dhoore the Mahler Piano Duo that specializes in performances of arrangements of orchestral works, such as Stravinsky's Rite of Spring or Richard Strauss' Alpensinfonie. In 2016, the duo performed Satie's ballet Parade in a Klara live radio program. They recently performed in UK and the Netherlands.
Laurent Beeckmans is also an appreciated accompanist and chamber music partner, and has given concerts with various artists such as the cellist Nicolas Deletaille, the violinist Floris Willem or the thereminist Grégoire Blanc with whom he founded the Alba Septet.
